Alex is the Founder Managing Partner of Ambition Capital.

With over a decade of experience across Growth Capital,  he is supported by our advisory board, investors, junior team and broader network.

 

Passionate about startups and SME's and the important role they play in the broader economy. He founded the business with the goal of helping promising, dynamic companies to grow whilst also providing opportunities for institutional investors to secure attractive, risk-adjusted returns.

 

Before setting up Ambition Capital Alex was a founder member of the investment team of Prefequity, a mezzanine lender focussed UK and European SME’s.

His prior background in investment banking spanned Mergers and Acquisitions, Leveraged Finance and Debt / Equity capital-raising. Alex interned at Goldman Sachs in the year before graduating from his Master's degree in Engineering at Imperial College London in 2003, having worked in the engineering, wealth management and commodity trading sectors throughout his four-year degree.

 

Joining JPMorgan's graduate programme in their London Investment Banking division he worked across a number of large- and medium-sized Corporate Finance and Leveraged Finance transactions. He moved to Merrill Lynch London for several years in a similar role. His focus throughout was on the Technology, Media and Telecommunications sectors whilst working across Business Services, Retail, Consumer, Healthcare and Global Emerging Markets.

In his spare time he enjoys travelling off the beaten path and broadening his food palate, ideally at the same time.
